No Relation to Homer, says Jessica Simpson

Los Angeles, CA - Famed starlet Jessica Simpson held a special press conference today in order to deny any rumors of her relation to cartoon celebrity Homer Simpson.

"I don't want anyone to think my fame and wealth came from family connections," the alleged actress told press. "My marketing strategist says that I owe my success to two huge reasons. I can't remember what they are just now but he's always saying they're substantial and that I should trust him."

The blonde reality television star and amateur pop singer told press that she'd been dumbfounded to learn she was not related to Homer Simpson.

"Just like everyone else, I'd assumed that if we had the same name, we were obviously related!"

The "Dukes of Hazard" star confessed that she'd only recently learned of her separate family history from the Springfield Simpsons from a reporter interviewing her about her fingernails for a major women's magazine.

"She was, like, totally weird," Jessica told reporters. "When she figured out that I'd thought Homer was some long-lost cousin of my father's, she started banging her head against the glass coffee table and groaning. She must have been, like, some botanist who studies family trees or something."

The actress confessed to having paid a great deal of attention in the past to the question of 'who was family, and who wasn't'.

"My mammy always said I should ask a guy his second name because, like, if it's Simpson or something that means I'm related and we can't have sex. I can't remember why that's bad - I just remember it had something to with Uncle Larry ending up with six fingers."

The Hollywood starlet, however, claims that the news has changed her life for the better.

"There must be, like, over two hundred guys I've refused to have sex with 'cause they were named Simpson. Now I know exactly how liberated the feminists feel. It's, like, totally great!"
